Provide on-site, records retention support services for the United States Department of Agriculture on Plum Island. Reporting to the Project Manager and coordinating with the Business Analyst (BA), the records analyst will prep, scan and destroy all records/documents. This role is vital in initiating the imaging process and obtaining our conversion objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain the highest standards of privacy, data quality, data integrity, confidentiality, and security.
- Receive, organize, scan and shred documents as assigned.
- Adhere to appropriate records destruction practices in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) record schedules and guidelines.
- Sorting and/or preparing hard copy records for scanning – document preparation
- Manage all operations of high-volume, continuous feed document scanners and associated software.
- Maintain scanning queue with prepared documents and monitor for quality, double feeds and errors to ensure the final digital version is accurate and complete.
- Ensure smooth operation with a proven track record of using and troubleshooting printer/scanner queues, and related processes including supplies and overall maintenance.
- Help perform quality assurance on the data that flows through the system and report issues to the on-site BA.
- Coordinate with teammates to request prepared documents to ensure timely turnaround of scanned records.
- Must be able to work within Bio-Safety Level 3 containment laboratory requiring daily decontamination showers upon exit form containment.
- Keep an up-to-date inventory spreadsheet of laboratory supplies with weekly updates.
