Overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated PostgreSQL Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing mission-critical PostgreSQL databases. You will leverage your deep expertise in PostgreSQL, cloud infrastructure, and data management to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance of the data environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement highly scalable and performant PostgreSQL databases on Azure PostgreSQL service. • Migrate existing on-premises or cloud-based databases to Azure PostgreSQL using best practices and industry-standard tools. • Develop and maintain robust data pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using Azure Data Factory and other relevant tools. • Implement a comprehensive data governance strategy, ensuring data security, access control, and compliance with regulations. • Proactively monitor and optimize database performance, identify and troubleshoot bottlenecks, and recommend performance improvement strategies. • Design and implement robust disaster recovery solutions to ensure data availability and minimize downtime in case of emergencies. • Collaborate closely with developers and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into efficient PostgreSQL solutions. • Stay current with the latest advancements in PostgreSQL, Azure PostgreSQL service, and data management best practices

QUALIFICATIONS


Education

  • • 3+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator or similar role. • In-depth expertise in PostgreSQL administration, query optimization, and

Certification

  • • Certifications in PostgreSQL or Azure cloud technologies are a plus.

Experience/Skills

  • • Strong understanding of relational database concepts and familiarity with SQL language. • Experience with cloud computing concepts and preferably with Azure cloud platform. • Experience with data integration tools like Azure Data Factory or similar solutions. • Understanding of data governance and security principles and best practices. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Clearance

  • Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance
  • Be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident alien with 3 or more years of residency

Travel

  • Some travel to project sites may be required
